MY MOM'S HEART SURGERY....

LAST WEEK, MY MOTHER MAUREEN CELEBRATED HER 69TH BIRTHDAY. ON MONDAY, SHE RECEIVED THE UNEXPECTED NEWS THAT SHE NEEDED TO HAVE OPEN HEART SURGERY THE FOLLOWING DAY. WHEN I GOT WORD LATE MONDAY, I FLEW TO PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA FIRST THING TUESDAY TO SEE HER. MY DAD AND BROTHER IAN WERE THERE TO SUPPORT HER THROUGH HER QUADRUPLE BYPASS. FOR AS SERIOUS AS THE SITUATION WAS/IS, I HAVE LAUGHED SO MUCH. MY FAMILY HAS BEEN BLESSED WITH SUCH AN AWESOME SENSE OF HUMOR. BECAUSE MY MOM WAS BORN IN IRELAND (BELFAST) , I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK SHE WAS BLESSED WITH A LIL LUCK TOO. SOON AFTER HER SURGERY, WHEN SHE AWOKE, SHE HAD A SMILE ON HER FACE AND APPEARED TO BE GETTING STRONGER. SHE IS A TOUGH AMAZING WOMAN WHO I AM PROUD TO CALL "MOM". SHE IS A GIVING PERSON AND KNOWS HOW TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. MY FAMILY AND I ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE HER AND ARE THANKFUL THAT HER SURGERY APPEARS TO BE A HUGE SUCCESS! THANK YOU FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. SO MANY PEOPLE REACHED OUT WITH SUCH KIND WORDS...EVEN PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER MET ME OR MY MOM. IT MAKES ME FEEL SO GREAT THAT THERE ARE SO MANY KIND PEOPLE WHO CARE.....
...ALTHOUGH MY MOM PROBABLY WOULD NOT APPRECIATE ME PUBLISHING THIS PICTURE ON OUR WEBSITE...I WANTED TO SHOW HER SMILE RIGHT AFTER HER SURGERY. IT'S WHO SHE IS. A WONDERFUL WOMAN WHO WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR ANYONE.

Dear Allan,
I hope you got my voicemail-I'm so relieved to hear your mom's surgery went well. Bob is still in Southwest's ICU & it's touch & go-I just keep praying, like we all did last year that God will heal him & want to keep him here with us. If you wouldn't mind asking your listeners for their prayers once again I would deeply appreciate it-they did wonders once before and we had so many hits onwebsite(www.getwellbob.com) of prayers and good wishes and it really helped us through.Your support has meant alot. All the best to your mom that she heal fast and please say hi to Sue & Gabby for us. Sincerely,Debbie
