BRADY'S OR GRADY'S LADIES????????

SHANNON O'BRIEN from 19 ACTION NEWS stopped by the show Monday to get the vibe on the BRADY QUINN situation. We spent the morning asking if it is all about BRADY or GRADY (Sizemore) for our female audience. SIDEBAR: SHANNON without a doubt chose BRADY. SIDEBAR #2: That is NOT a Chinese Throwing Star around SHANNON'S NECK. SHANNON is a cool chica and a good friend. It's always festive when she stops by the show.

PIRATES WIN 5-2 SATURDAY IN THE RAIN

DYLAN and GABBY share a post game moment
My daughter GABBY scored her second goal of the season in a 5-2 win on Saturday in the rain. Our team is 2-0 and playing great together. Despite the excellent team effort with great passing, the highlight for the team was the post-game Rice Krispy treats!

COUNTDOWN TO 40 UPDATE....

I have made a committment to myself to be in the best shape of my life by the time I'm 40 (December 3) ....and so far, it's going great! I'M DOWN 30 POUNDS OVERALL!!! It was so exciting to weigh in this weekend-down another 8 pounds! Everything they say about diet and exercize is true. With the weather getting better, I've been able to get out biking and that has really helped. In the first couple of weeks, the weight loss was just a number, but now I'm totally feeling it. I really am more energetic and feel great. The weight is falling off. Combining the eating plan with the biking and treadmill has really paid off.

SPRING SOCCER OPEN WITH WIN ON SATURDAY

OPENING DAY for Spring Soccer was also picture day for the PIRATES. Once again, we have a team full of comedians. We tell the kids to make sure they are the team "havin' the most fun"...and they certainly are....
ANTHONY, DYLAN, RACHAEL AND MY DAUGHTER GABBY
THE PIRATES won their season opener 8-2 on Saturday. GABBY scored the first goal of the season and was all smiles after the game. Our team is made up of an awesome group of kids and parents. We played a well-balanced game with everyone playing their part in the big win. We decided that , as coaches, we were going to do less coaching during the games and let the kids play....and they did. We have found that if we give instructions to the kids while they are on the sidelines, it works much better than yelling out to them while they are playing on the field. It's amazing what the kids can do if you just let them be. I'm so proud of this team. We are off to a great start this season.

MORE PIX FROM THE PAST....

As the countdown to 40 rolls on, I thought it would be fun to look at some pix from the past. I found these pix during my brother IAN's visit this week.....
Here's one of my early hairstyles. Apparently it was hip back then to have one side stick out. I think this pic was taken around third grade.
Again, note the hair issues...
This pic was taken my sophomore year in high school.

ELLIOTT YAMIN LIVE IN THE WILDE AND FEE LOUNGE THURSDAY MORNING ON Q104!

ELLIOTT YAMIN stopped by the show Thursday morning to talk about his new CD and his upcoming show in Cleveland in May. He was super cool and an awesome interview. His live performance of his new single "Wait for you" sounded great! He is the real deal and will be around for awhile.

ANGRY CALLER KAREN

This morning, we took a call from a woman named Karen who clearly had issues with me on the show. She took several shots at me, including the fact that I talk about my daughter too much on the radio. She also had issue with me comparing what happened at Kent State to what happened at Virginia Tech.
To clarify, I wasn't comparing exact events. I was talking about both schools being defined by senseless on-campus killings and how sad that is. I feel both schools should not be given such a horrible label. Yes, we should remember, but we should let both of these great colleges be known for what they are today.

As for talking about my daughter....I am proud to be her father and consider it a gift. It's who I am. Most of our audience has children and often call about their kids. I try to relate to them by being who I am. I make no apologies for talking about my daughter and I try to be aware of not overdoing it.

For the record, I encourage open dialouge about what we say on the show. We take phone calls on the air from people who passionately disagree with things that we say. I think what sets our show apart from others is the fact that we keep it real. We are not above negative feedback. We try to shape our show to what our audience is about and we do that by listening to you. My only true issue with Karen today is how she conducted herself. She was angry and clearly had an agenda. I admit, I was blind-sided by the call and wish I handled it better myself.
I received several emails about this today and have posted a few on the comments section below. Feel free to add your thoughts.
My brother IAN is in town this week. Last night we shared a cigar moment.

'LIVE" AT THE UNIVERSITY of PITTSBURGH

I'm a huge fan of the band LIVE and was pumped to hear of a free show they were doing outside at PITT. The band played in the rain in front of a fairly small crowd. It was cold, but awesome. It's really cool to see the band do LIGHTNING CRASHES in a driving rainstorm. Here's a few pix I took at the show...

After taping a feature for SPORTS TIME OHIO at The Jake, I hurried over to the Wolstein Center to check out CHRISTINA AGUILERA. She put on an awesome show. I've always loved her voice and her music ...but had never seen her in concert. I even skipped BILLY JOEL (an all-time fave) across town at The Q to see her. Her show reminded me a bit of JANET JACKSON's VELVET ROPE tour...lots of dancers and performers swingin' around the stage. I thought she was a bit over-the-top with stripper-like look for the entire show. Don't get me wrong, she is hot...but it seemed a tad excessive. I felt the same way about MARIAH CAREY at Nautica a few years back. Overall, loved the show.

"FEE'S FANS" TO AIR ON 'TOTALLY TRIBE' ON SPORTS TIME OHIO

ANDY BASKIN hosts a new INDIANS show called TOTALLY TRIBE on SPORTS TIME OHIO. He asked me to do a feature called "FEE's FANS" where I go into the crowd at The Jake looking for the best Tribe fans. We taped our first segment Friday night at the game against The White Sox....
We met a bunch of guys in the bleachers who were shirtless with the name GRADY spelled out across their chests....a festive group....game time temps were in the low 40's....
These ladies were more than willing to talk about their passion for GRADY SIZEMORE. They spent a lot of time at Spring Training with The Tribe. They said it was a lil warmer in Florida.

We had a blast at the ballpark meeting the fans. We got some great tape of a guy rappin' "Take me out to the ballgame"...he was free-stylin' and clearly had the YO FACTOR. We also met a grandma who has mastered "batta batta batta...schwwwiiiiiiiinggggg batta!" I can't wait to see how it turns out.

TOTALLY TRIBE airs an hour before each Wednesday game and repeats throughout the week on SPORTS TIME OHIO.
My daughter GABBY (center) with her friends JACK and AMELIA at a recent trip to the pool. GABS says she can't wait for the outdoor pool to open...with soccer getting cancelled again today because of the cold weather..I can't wait for spring to start either....

CAVS GEARING UP FOR THE PLAY-OFFS.....

The Cavs rolled over New Jersey this week as we continue to gear up for the play-offs. Some people are sayin' The Cavs are not good enough to compete with Miami or Detroit. Last year we proved we could play the Pistons tough....Miami seems to have our number, but the play-offs are a new season. I feel the Cavs will at least win two play-off series this year..
My friend KEN (weekends on Q104) and I hang in his fancy luxury suite at The Q for the game against New Jersey.

JOHN CONNOR'S FINAL DAY ON Q104

JOHN CONNOR has been my friend for over 15 years! We both started our careers in the Pacific Northwest and ended up working together here at Q104. John is one of the kindest, most genuine people you will ever meet. He has a huge heart and a great passion for music, running and biking. I'm proud to call him my friend. I have a great deal of respect for him personally and professionally. I have had the pleasure of sharing holidays with his mother and sister and look forward to knowing them for many years to come. I wish John and his family all the best on this, his final day with Q104. I'm excited to see him follow his passion. JOHN and I hangin' at the AUGUSTANA show at The House Of Blues.
Biking to Penninsula last summer.

"SPRING" SOCCER OFFICIALLY STARTS

Much like the INDIANS, our "Spring Soccer" season has been delayed by the weather. We actually pondered practicing in Milwaukee. My daughter's U-8 soccer team had its first practice Wednesday night in the rain and 46 degrees. With last week's practices washed out from the weather, we had to get in a first practice before our first game this weekend. Several of our kids are returning from Fall soccer. They are an awesome group of kids and have a blast playin' together. I love coaching GABBY's team and can't wait for the season to start and the weather to get much better.

THE COUNTDOWN TO 40 ROLLS ON....

Another successful weight loss week!!! Down another 4 pounds, bringing the overall total to 22 pounds lost on LA Weight Loss.
I have made a committment to myself to be in the best shape of my life by my 40th birthday (December 3) and for the rest of my life...
I've been on the program for two-and-a-half weeks and feel awesome. It's true what they say about energy. I totally feel great and I'm excited about the early progress.
I've been asked quite a bit about my big weight loss in a short amount of time...I have incorporated workouts on the treadmill (40 minutes minimum, 6 days a week) and outdoor biking (10 miles a day minimum) when the weather cooperates. It's very true about eating right and exercize. I have done both well seperately, but never combined the two. The results have been amazing. I look forward to better weather and more outdoor activity. I feel highly motivated and look forward to my next weigh in.

EASTER SUNDAY....

My daughter GABBY enjoys a chocolate Easter Bunny on Sunday. She also helped prove the fact that most kids eat the ears first. FYI...The best way to hide eggs today is DON'T color them and throw them out in the snow....

Even though it felt more like a BROWNS game, Opening Day was magical at The Jake.
It's hard to tell who the mascot really is.

DESPITE FRIDAY'S NON HOME-OPENER, I HAD A BLAST ON OPENING DAY 2007

After the opener, I hung out with Batman and Robin at The Thirsty Parrot.
The weather played a big role in Friday's non-home opener. The cold temps kept a lot of people away from the ballpark. This year's pre-game festivities included the National Anthem being sung by a US soldier live from Iraq. There's something magical about Open ing Day...even when they don't officially get the game in. The game has been re-scheduled for 1:05pm today...then another game tonight at 7:05pm.
As much as I love baseball, I never understand why they start the season when they do. If snow is a factor, it seems like they should wait until at least the middle of April to open the season. I kept waiting for the BROWNS to take the field yesterday. It's hard to believe that this is only the third time an opener has been postponed due to snow.
HERITAGE PARK is awesome! The Indians got this one right on! It's worth a visit to the outfield to check out this tribute to Tribe players from the past.

My daughter GABBY is ready for OPENING DAY. I had a hard time answering the question, "Dad, what does Wild Thing mean??"

JOE MONTANA PHOTO OP

JOE MONTANA stopped by the set of GOOD COMPANY on Tuesday afternoon. PRODUCER NICK and I stopped by after our show for a quick photo-op.

TENNESSEE WINS WOMEN'S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE Q LAST NIGHT.

My friend BRIAN H and I went to the NCAA Women's Final last night at The Q. We stopped by Channel 3 financial guy KEVIN MYEROFF'S suite to pose for this pic. BRIAN actually practices this face in the mirror at home for moments just like this.
Tennessee beat Rutgers 59-46 to win the national championship. Cleveland proved that it can host a major national event. Great to see so many people out and about on the town.
Hangin' at the game last night with BRIAN H. and Channel 3 financial guy KEVIN MYEROFF.

DOWN ANOTHER 2 POUNDS! TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS AT 18 POUNDS AND COUNTING!

Down another 2 pounds on LA WEIGHT LOSS!!! That's a total of 18 POUNDS in just under two weeks. The program is totally working for me! With all this energy, also knocked out a 42 minute treadmill and a 20-mile bike ride yesterday. Not a bad way to start the week!

THE JOURNEY TO 40 CONTINUES...

I set a goal to be in the best shape of my life by my 40th birthday on December 3 of this year...and so far, so good.... Since starting the LA WEIGHT LOSS program, I am down 16 pounds! Down another two pounds during Saturday's weigh in! The program has been great. I sincerely feel energized. I'm eating real food and totally feeling great! The extra energy has inspired strong workouts...and with the weather breaking, I've been our riding at least 10 miles a night on my bike. I never thougth I would be excited to step on a scale, but I'm truly looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in!
